PRACTICE EXPERIENCE:
Melvin Urgello has had in-depth exposure and experience in handling various legal issues concerning a major water utility company, including corporate rehabilitation, construction and engineering contracts, environmental policy, employment and labor matters, rates and other regulatory aspects of the grant and operation of water concessions. Mr. Urgello had also been involved in a number of major transactions covering comprehensive due diligence audits, the successful bidding, acquisition and privatization of a government power plant, the successful sale of an independent power producer with a 70MW rated capacity, and the negotiation and construction of an alternative energy generating power plant. He has also counseled a major independent power producer on various regulatory aspects of operating a power plant, including issues involving environmental laws and national and local government regulations.

Mr. Urgello has participated in the corporate restructuring of a pioneer on-line gaming company, and has drafted and reviewed several agreements involving on-line gaming, mobile gaming and merchandising support and intellectual property protection. He was also involved in the sale and transfer of shares of stock held by a major foreign bank and successfully handled arbitration proceedings before the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission involving a Php14Million award.
Mr. Urgello is currently involved in the documentation process relative to the establishment of a downstream natural gas pipeline for one of the firm's major energy clients. He is also a senior member of the firm's team which is assisting a major water concessionaire in the implementation of its capital restructuring, which involves the assignment by a government-owned and controlled corporation of its right to subscribe to the shares of such concessionaire.
