PRACTICE EXPERIENCE:
Alan Tantoco represents clients in both corporate and litigation matters. On the corporate front, Mr. Tantoco has been involved in documenting general corporate, joint venture and shareholder transactions. He has also advised clients on security issues relating to international project finance and addressed creditor issues concerning real and personal property. Further, he has significant participation in the review of key project and financing agreements. Mr. Tantoco has worked on several transactions involving construction and engineering in major projects such as power, water and infrastructure. He has also counseled clients on bidding procedures for consultancy and construction work relating to these projects. In addition, Mr. Tantoco has counseled clients in relation to the development of natural gas pipeline projects and compressed natural gas filling stations.

His experience further extends to the review of pending legislation and implementing regulations, particularly in respect of activities relating to power, water and natural gas. Such work required him to participate in various conferences and working groups on the matter with representatives of the Department of Energy and other stakeholders. Mr. Tantoco has also been deeply involved in the drafting, review and negotiation of several contracts required for the commercial operation of a major tollway project which was achieved in 2005. Furthermore, Mr. Tantoco has also worked and counseled clients on transactions involving on-line games and related merchandising and the distribution of fast moving consumer goods, both within and outside the Philippines.
Mr. Tantoco's litigation experience involves civil, criminal and administrative cases. However, his primary focus is family law. He has substantial experience in annulment and declaration of nullity of marriage cases and their ancillary actions relating to support, dissolution of property regime and child custody.
Mr. Tantoco is currently advising and assisting a major gas pipeline company in the development of its pipeline business and gas supply contracts and a major water concessionaire in the various aspects of its the corporate rehabilitation in relation to the public bidding of the shareholdings by one of its shareholders. |
